PSI in the UK have four major offerings:
- Order Management and Contract Control system
- Production Planning and Material Control for Contract Manufacturing
- Production Planning Board systems for shop floor control with
'drag and drop'
- Warehouse Management Systems with optional truck control.
Each of these systems is capable of leading the field in its area, but the strength of the offering comes from the fact that the systems have all been designed with external integration as a core objective. Integration with each other is well-proven, implemented on many customer sites, and integration with external financial packages (e.g. SAP) is proven and simple.
By picking from this offering, contract manufacturers have the ability to address their key business concerns. For customers with 'job shop' type activities and raw materials on 'call-off', the planning board system with its finite capacity scheduling would give immediate payback. Some other ERP packages are weak in this area, and by integrating the package with their ERP system, real shop-floor control with a graphical user interface is finally achieved.
Other contract manufacturers have substantial and demanding material movement requirements, and for these, the combination of the Order Control, Production Planning and integrated Warehouse Management system would ensure accurate material control without the need to implement new Financials as well. The Order Control suite includes facility for multi-site, multi-lingual cross provisioning of materials and sub-assemblies.
