PSItraffic now includes a facility for making group calls via live streaming. The system links the control room with the on-board computers and with mobile phones and other terminals. The solution can also be used, with the addition of GIS cards, to display the geographical location of vehicles.
Differing from normal voice communications, this system transmits the call immediately and permits simultaneous transmission and reception of voice by all participants in the call or, if preferred, a push-to talk function is also available.
With very extensive network coverage and the increase in data communication capacity by the mobile operators, voice as data can be transmitted quickly and reliably even in overcrowded GSM space.
