Customer-oriented Information Media

The PSItraffic based systems from PSI are very flexible in the way that information is communicated to passengers. With multiple standard interfaces to a wide variety of hardware units, the most appropriate displays and audio units can be selected for a particular location or operator. Details of timetables, real time running, arrivals and departures, connections and journey times can be displayed (or heard) at bus/tram/train stations, at stops, on vehicles or via the web on mobile devices.

Display units

The PSI display portfolio includes single and double sided displays using LED, LCD or TFT technologies for fixed and on-vehicle locations.

We work with suppliers of display units who follow a policy of continuous improvement and whose products represent current state of the art technology. Appropriate technology is selected for each location bearing in mind the needs of passengers with sight or hearing impairment. Durability, ruggedization, maintenance requirements and service life are all factors that are considered. The aim is to provide units that offer consistent quality and lifetime value.

Voice portals

As well as audio information given in standard format and also on an ad hoc basis, at stations, stops and on vehicles, PSItraffic systems allow passengers to access the voice portal by telephone and obtain arrival and departure times, connection information and additionally buy tickets where permitted.

Web-based information

All information that is available on displays can be broadcast via a web server. This might be available at kiosks at the station, in order to find information about services not yet on the displays, or to do journey planning. This service can also be made available generally via web terminals, hand held devices, mobile telephones etc.
